Logi Mastery started in 2018 because Oliver Mercer kept noticing the same problem in different organisations: smart people making poor decisions, not because they lacked intelligence or information, but because the structure around their thinking was broken. The decision-making process itself was the bottleneck. He had seen it in logistics, in infrastructure, in professional services. He left a well-paid advisory role at a European infrastructure fund to build something smaller and more deliberate.
Oliver Mercer spent eleven years inside large organisations before he stopped. He ran strategy and operations for a mid-size logistics firm in the East Midlands, then a two-year stint advising a European infrastructure fund on process redesign. Neither role let him work the way he wanted to work: slowly, carefully, with one client at a time. He founded Logi Mastery in 2018 to do exactly that. He holds a postgraduate qualification in organisational systems thinking and reads more philosophy of mind than most consultants would admit to. He does not take on more than four active engagements at once, and he has turned down retainers that would have required him to compromise on that.
